With the theme, Transform: Embracing Possibilities. Realizing Potentials, the 76th Annual National Convention of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA) was held virtually from November 24 – 27, 2021, hosted by the Metro Manila Geographical Area Office, the Metro Manila Region and Chapters with Cloudstaff as one of its gold sponsors.
About 4,000 Filipino CPAs both here and abroad took part in this significant event which provided them the opportunity to gain further knowledge from insightful discussions of the event’s esteemed speakers. It was a great juncture to stay up to date with the current developments and topics in the field of accounting.
More than 800 participants visited and registered on the Cloudstaff virtual booth, which served as an excellent venue to introduce a lot of great opportunities in the #1 workplace in the Philippines to many accountants who are looking for their dream career or considering a better career path.
The PICPA event also included photo booths, virtual games, and chat rooms for online interaction. And to make things even more exciting, our Recruitment team announced an e-raffle draw where one CPA could be the lucky prize winner.

“Attending seminars and conferences has always been a favorite activity of mine. They allow me to connect with the broader community, share ideas, talk about the future, and get inspired.
Last week, I attended the 76th Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Annual National Convention, with this year’s theme, Transform: Realizing Potential, Embracing Possibilities. This was a four-day event which started from the 24th day to the 27th day of November. The 76th PICPA convention was my first major conference that has been remote. This remote convention was completely different.
Highly Interactive Virtual Venue
With the global impacts of Covid-19, many conferences have been cancelled or moved online to become virtual conferences, and this event was one of those. Despite the challenges, we still felt that we were at the Philippine International Convention Center at the comforts of our home. We were given access to enter the microsite and explore the highly interactive virtual venue. There were various areas to look at such as the Chat Lounge, where we could connect with fellow guests, the Activity Hall, where we could take a photos and play games, the Gallery Hall, where we could check out PICPA members, the Plenary Hall, where we could join the main event, the Breakout Hall, where we could attend the breakout sessions, the Knowledge Hub, were we could learn more about PICPA, and lastly, the Exhibit Hall, where we can visit the exhibitors booth. Cloudstaff was one of the exhibitors and one of the convention’s Gold sponsors.
Attending Conference Sessions
The primary and important reason I went to the convention this year was to hear from colleagues. My sessions were chosen based on topics as well as the people I wanted to hear from. Some of the sessions I attended were about Empowering Digital Entrepreneurs, Transformative Leadership, New Audit Practices, Controversial Tax Issuances, Building Trust and Connections with Remote Teams, Physical and Mental Health in Stressful Times, and a lot more. I won’t go into detail about each panel or session I attended, but there was something to take from every discussion I participated in. Attending these sessions gave me fresh ideas for exploration and helped me uncover holes in my knowledge and comprehension. I’ll undoubtedly tell my workmates about what I’ve learned at this event.
Meeting New People
One of the highlights of this convention for me was meeting so many distinguished individuals, particularly in the fields of business and finance. Among them was Hon. Governor Benjamin E. Diokno of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, who gave the Keynote Address, “Leadership Talk: Transformation Amid Changes and Challenges.” I’d admired these people from afar, and this was the first time I’d had the chance to meet them, even just virtually, and attend their talks.
Way Ahead
Overall, I had a great experience at the conference. I could say that I was truly transformed. This convention had a significant impact on me in terms of realizing potential and embracing possibilities. I am really grateful to Cloudstaff for providing me the opportunity to witness and capture this PICPA’s annual event with Sir Rodel Murillo and Ms. Valerie Rivera. Attending the conference was extremely beneficial to me, and I am looking forward to attending more in the future.”
