The world is a very busy place. We have so many things to do, and so little time to do them. With our incredibly hectic schedules, we are moving less, stressing more and eating the wrong food. This high-stress, sedentary lifestyle is bad for us. Bad for our bodies, bad for our brains, bad for our bank accounts.
Exercise is something that most professionals neglect these days. At Cloudstaff, we go beyond incredible perks and rewards for our Cloudstaffers. We want to give them the tools to help them live a healthy, energetic lives.
We believe that encouraging an active lifestyle will result in a happier, healthier, more productive workplace — and we put our money where our mouth is.
We found that choice of activity, cost and scheduling conflicts were the most common reasons people didn’t commit to regular exercise, so we fixed it.
Cloudstaff provides staff with free access to programs that help Cloudstaffers be more active. These programs (part of Cloudstaff Clubs) are funded by Cloudstaff, but run by the Cloudstaffers. They choose the activities, they choose the time, and everyone is welcome.
These programs vary in intensity but are all designed to help staff get moving. Some of these activities include Badminton (CS Smashers), Boxing, Zumba (Zumbasters), Hiking (CS Outdoor Group), Running (CS Runners), and Table Tennis (CS Paddlers).
Many think of exercise as hard work, and that it’s only useful for losing weight or staying fit. But it is not just about looking and feeling great, there are more benefits from exercising than meets the eye.
More energy
Being active will help you get the most out of each day, reducing tiredness and improving your stamina. You will actually be able to get more done.
Stress reduction
Getting your heart pumping will help you manage mental and physical stress.
Happy hormones
Exercising releases hormones which help the body heal and it boosts the immune system. It also alleviates anxiety and depression.
Self-confidence
Looking and feeling good adds to your self-perception. If you feel great, you will have a better day.
Fight cognitive effects of aging
Exercise boosts the chemicals in the brain which are helpful in preventing Alzheimer’s disease and other serious ailments.
Positive effects to memory and brain power
Exercising can help create new brain cells and improve general brain function. Exercise can also boost memory retention, the recall process and help with learning.
Helps you relax and sleep
Exercise will help you sleep better.
Creates bonds between co-workers
People getting together during recreational activities tend to form bonds and create friendships. Getting healthy and looking good while laughing with friends is a really great way to end the day.
Appreciating nature
Exercising outdoors is a gift that can do wonders for you. Vitamin D from the sun can act as an antidepressant.
Cloudstaff is continually creating more special interest groups (Cloudstaff Clubs) to help Cloudstaffers get the most from their professional and personal lives. We are committed to encouraging active lifestyles that not only exercises the body, but the mind as well.
